One of the activities we have planned for the ART Trail celebration is a community weaving workshop with Tasmania's inspired weaver Gwen Egg. To help get it underway we are asking for the following materials to be collected and stored and brought along on the day. More details about the workshop will follow but for the moment, it is important to start gathering those long trimmings.

Materials for Weaving Workshop with Gwen Egg
- Long prunings of vines such as Grape, Wisteria, Clematis, Jasmine. Roll these into rough hoops and allow to dry or become leathery. Soak them overnight ready for the day.
- Find Willow trees that have been damaged or cut such that they have grown long shoots. Collect the long shoots and also long fruit tree prunings and weeping willow. Collect soon and store in a damp place where they will go leathery but not dry out completely.
- Collect dry Cordyline leaves. The Cordyline palm drops lots of dry leaves. Immerse Cordyline leaves in water for 24 hours before the workshop.
- Collect long leafed materials such as Iris and Watsonia Leaves and Red Hot Poker stalks, rushes and long strips of bark. Dry these and re-dampen them overnight ready for the day.
